Sgts.
Dorian Burrell 104 Pct.
 |
On March 17, 2003, Sgt. Dorian Burrell and another officer from the 104 Precinct in Queens were responding to a call of a man with a gun when their RMP was broadsided by a speeding vehicle. Both officers were critically injured and hospitalized for several months. To this day, Sgt. Burrell is living with the effects of her debilitating injuries, but has displayed a spirit and determination that is downright humbling. We can’t applaud her enough, not only for the sacrifice she made while coming to the aid of fellow police officers, but also for her steely resolve and great depth of character that is an inspiration to us all.
